| I am from Anchorage, Alaska but have been traveling the world since the age of 12. Currently my mother ownes a house in Kampala, Uganda, while my dual citizenship is pending. I have been to 35+ countries and have experience many different cultures and their views on drugs and drug use. I have always used Erowid (along with other cross references) to conduct any inquires I might have. I have always depended on Erowid to be fair and unprejudice. I appreciate their mission to promote safety within the party culture. They do no condone nor support "delinquency"; they just present the facts to the best of their ability. I am 49 & find I love DXM, but the cost of buying cough syrup is financially ruining me. Where can I buy 100% DXM, & not have to pay for all the chemicals I don't want in the cough remedies? My body has learned to tolerated DXM. At first it sent me to an emergegency room because of heart palpitations & being unablbe to urinate the DXM out of me. ...That sent me to a heart specialisist who took a lot "$" of tests on me. But now I tolerate DXM medicatitions easily & have mild "hi's" when I drink the Cough Syrup. ...But what used to take one bottle for me, now takes 2 or 3. But I should refuse to pay the price for a pharmacy medicatition which has a TON OF CHEMICALS I DON'T WANT, when I'm only paying an astrinomical price for a box & some chemicals I don't want to ingest.. DXM is legal in this country. Don't pay the drug companies for their syrup. ....Rather, ..legally buy DXM. It will keep all of us out of the poor house. STOP GIVING YOUR CREDIT CARD TO WALGREENS! They're keeping track of everyone who buys DMX products. Let's find a legal way to inexpensiviely buy DXM. {""PURE 100% DXM. period!} | ||||

veteran smokers please help... i started smoking about a year ago w/ friends and never really found an absolute comfort zone while smoking with others. i find myself getting paranoid and insecure, worrying about things such as being brainwashed by modern television or being attacked by acquaintances for being gay (which i am not). usually, if i smoke more than a bowl in a night, i'll have to go home before the night is through (though i do control myself well, & unless i explain, people can't usually tell i'm in a bad way). however, when i get home (or if i'm smoking alone), i feel energized and healthy when i smoke. things make sense. i'm not paranoid or nervous, and often with a little meditation i can achieve very lucid, and dare i say, mystical states. for me, it's a lot more like mushrooms or other higher reputed hallucinogens under the effects of which, people tend to be rewarded greatly in the most nurturing environments but often tormented in anything less than. i absolutely love smoking alone. my highs are spiritual and adventurous and rewarding. but few people understand that i don't do well being high on marijuana around others. i seem to 'trip' more than others (not always negative) and i do have a slight tendency to social anxiety, which i'm sure is the problem, and it may be too deep to fish out a resolution in one short high. so my question is... am i making an unhealthy decision in smoking at all? should i just smoke alone or where i'm absolutely comfortable? and if so, how do i explain to regular social-smokers that i don't get high the way they do? when i try to tell, people are often put off or they believe there's something wrong w/ me. and i feel rude not participating. please help. i've been struggling w. this for quite some time and i need some veteran advice. thank you very much for your time. -steve | ||||

LsD & other questions My first question is this, is it possible to become Schizophranic if someone drops acid or if his/her parents took it 3 or so years before the person is born? Also, as far as herbal X goes a company on the net tried selling it a few years back as a smoke, I found one of the best things to do was to make a list of what it consisted of and then buy/mix it myself (much cheaper), however one of the ingredients was Ephedra herb. Also, what is the best way to make lettuce opium so that it is smokeable in a joint? | ||||

Rehab Links, More Substances I was under the impression that Coricidn was only dangerous at high doses. Thank god your site showed me otherwise. Also, excellent job with the cannabis effect page. The withdrawal symptoms couldn't be anymore accurate. Keep the facts coming! | ||||

| I went on a tour of my police departments forensics lab recently and was suprised to notice that among the medical books and law books was a copy of PIHKAL, I suppose they would use it if they found a product of one of the drugs in PIHKAL, just a little thing I thought I'd share. | ||||

see bellow: Please, I know this website is operated by INTELIGENT individuals... But please scan through experiences posts and be a bit more anal about who you allow to post. I'm really offended when completely inexperienced morons post about using drugs and provide entirely the wrong information. Not only does it turn people away from the substance for the wrong reason... It provides misinformation that frankly just pisses me (and many others) off. For example...This is just one I've read recently, some kid talking about his first time on oxycontin ... I won't get into what's wrong in that entire post, because if you read it... it would be quite obvious. It's pretty aparrent that the kid was a real "BRAIN SURGEON" when he states at the beginning of his story that he 'held off on getting Oxy for the first time because all the dealer had was 40mg pills and he knew he should start low' The kid also claims he was insuffulating the pills. Now... Maybe it's just me, but wouldn't any normal homo sapien with a semi functioning brain realise that the simple sollution to that would be to just NOT snort the entire line(pill) at once? This portion is not so much what aggrevates me, it's just me projecting the kind of people that are providing information in the experiences vault. The kid goes on to provide several factors of misinformation making claims about how he "overdosed" when from his description he was clearly just experiences the normal Narcotic analgesic "nod"... However he places the experience under Negative experiences, and writes a huge statement towards the end on how it's a terrible drug... etc.. etc.. I'm sorry for ranting but I guess all I'm asking is to filter out people who submit storries of this nature. They aggrevate veteran drug users like myself, because they provide misinformation to the younger experimenting youth of today. Sorry again for the rant, Erowid has always been a wonderfull site... Keep up the good work guys, I used to log on when I was still in highschool, and you've helped me in many ways when I was still young up and ignorant. | ||||

That's COOL!!! I first saw herb on my poster, Bob Marley was smokin it=) That's the best site... I like getting so much information about drugs and other things... | I am an avid mugwort enthusiast. I had never heard of smoking it before. I have found a cumulative effect with tea drinking, rather than the reported tolerance building with smoking. I find a teaspoon of dried herb steeped in boiling water sufficient. I recommend being cautious about mixing it with alcohol, or other drugs, tho the effect is usually quite mild. Just smelling the herb during sleep is an effective way to stimulate dream recall and create very vivid dreams. It is contraindicated during pregnancy. | ||||
